The British Pest Control Association (BPCA) has been successful in lobbying major retailers and food service companies to ensure that professional pest controllers like Cannon Pest Control are acknowledged as experts in the prevention and control of pests.
Developed by the British Retail Consortium, a UK trade organisation that represents the interests of the UK retailers, the BRC`s Global standard for Food Safety is used extensively in 14,000 sites in 100 countries. Key changes coming out in January 2012 include:
- Expanding upon foreign body control
- Introduction of a new unannounced audit scheme
- Site visit frequencies to be based on site risk assessment
- New requirement 4.13.8 for field biologist or equivalent inspections to be carried out quarterly
